Visualettes Info + Luna Base Lyrics

Apparently the visualettes accompanying the tracks of Abnormally Attracted to Sin are surprisingly diverse. Most are in color. A few are in black-and-white. One has a really grainy quality to it. One is actually animated. The option to watch the visualettes with or without the lyrics will be available.

11. Luna Base (4:22)
just a little thought for you
that has been branded on my brain
about the night where you devoured me
and said to never trust again
i saw the terror in your eyes
and years have not been kind
well, the fall is full of hunters and of harvests
this much you surely know
but it is me within your numbers
beneath the undertow
pulling you so sweet
and so uncertain
are you afraid of life or are you afraid of death?
the question comes out in flashes
but you have embezzled enough hollow feelings
you barely feel a thing

and you're paranoid enough to just waste your faith
and i've watched you over the years
maximum thoughts allotted
a bothersome affair

but there are no chapels on this earth
where you can make an example out of me
maybe in the works of science fiction
a Luna Base is out there somewhere
surely mocking me

this is not religion
hate is not religion
burning the entire world around us both

just a little taste of you
that has been branded in my mouth
because the night where you devoured me
it still pulses within my very cells
i might as well just melt into the dirt
and years have not been kind
from the twisting cliffs to a long cold slumber
this much i surely know
but it is you inside my body
deep inside of me
destroying me from within
the big crunch
am i afraid of you or am i afraid of myself?
lately i have been terrifying myself
with how little i can feel
i barely feel a thing

and you're paranoid enough to just take his word
and i've worn you down to the earth
without moving a muscle
a ferocious charade

but there are no chapels on this earth
where you can make an example out of me
maybe in the works of science fiction
a Luna Base is out there somewhere
surely mocking me

this is not religion
hate is not religion
burning the entire world around us both

sing a song
sing a holy song
and open the sky up above us
a brilliant blue
the perfect blue to just go right through me
infinitely through me
i look to the sky
what a flawless satellite
hanging up there
but can you feel it?
can i feel it?

but there are no chapels on this earth
where you can make an example out of me
maybe in the works of science fiction
a Luna Base is out there somewhere
no, there are no chapels on this earth
where you can make an example out of me
maybe in the works of science fiction
a Luna Base is out there somewhere
surely mocking me

this is not religion
hate is not religion
this is not religion
hate is not religion
burning the entire world around us both
around us both

Release Push + What Jacob Said Lyrics

Abnormally Attracted to Sin was originally intended to hit stores later this month, with the lead single getting a digital release in only a week. Universal and Tori are apparently in talks of doing a dual release with the original album as well as a remix album. Now the hunt for musicians and programmers to remix tracks has begun. As far as I know, the release is still going to be digital only along with "download cards." The lead single will likely remain the same, but perhaps a remix will be co-released? Expect the album sometime between the second half of April and the first half of May.

15. What Jacob Said (5:23)
a lady was found
face up in the water
she said
don't drink the water
because of mercury
but every baby in the village
was baptized in the water
by word and by law
and by bodyguards
is what i should've thought about then but
i drew up a diagram
to display the proper course of action
to the velocity point
i need to find his holy word

i can feel you in my bones
and your scriptures have eluded me
this one time
at least this one time
clear the woods and call the hunter
is What Jacob Said
when he wanted me
bound and broken

a lady was found
face up in the water

i can feel you in my bones
and your scriptures have eluded me
this one time
at least this one time
clear the woods and call the hunter
is What Jacob Said
when he wanted me
bound and broken

as a girl of my word
i am a biological catastrophe
and in
and of itself
i can tear you to pieces
and you will be none the wiser
and when he analyzes her
with her legs
spread
so
wide
and he may go inside that well
that ocean
that poisonous potion

i can feel you in my bones
and your scriptures have eluded me
this one time
at least this one time
clear the woods and call the hunter
is What Jacob Said
when he wanted me
bound and broken

spread
so
wide

i can feel you in my bones
and your scriptures have eluded me
this one time
at least this one time
clear the woods and call the hunter
is What Jacob Said
when he wanted me
bound and broken
and broken
and broken

Release Date + First Single

The new Tori Amos album, Abnormally Attracted to Sin, will be released on March 24th. The first single, "We Grew Up Together," will be sent to radio stations and also receive a digital release on March 10th.

Concept Art

A piece of concept art from the new Tori Amos album showed up in my inbox tonight. I have no idea if this is some concept art from one of the visualettes or for digital album art.

Vox Lyrics

Got a transcription of the lyrics to the song "Vox" on the new Tori Amos disc. Apparently Abnormally Attracted to Sin is not getting any kind of physical release. Something about a strictly digital release and download cards...?

06. Vox (7:54)
i tracked you by scent
to the other side of the mountain
where you managed
an escipade
of astronomical proportions
and mostly theorized facts
with the needle to the monument
pulling my structure
my charicature
make a beeline for the
landing
point
who do you think you're running from
in this land of insisting
as i crawl out of mirrors and evade when you thrust
a lady of mist
and wet heart sorrow
do you struggle at the sanctuary?

i guess we can only blame ourselves
for letting it get like this
just Vox
no more beats beating
no more beats beating in my head
at five in the morning
and Vox
can remedy
can suffer
can make just one more excuse
for causing damage
causing damage

it gets cold when it rains
on the other side of the mountain
but you suffered
and changed
and the years have been rough on you
but this one time it matters
which cult you belong to
atoms can bust
and women can loan their
metal
hearts
why do you try to trust me
when my back is turning?
and i am comfortable with hurt and with sorrow
a practical lie
and still i hold you
but can you love me with the safety off?

i guess we can only blame ourselves
for letting it get like this
just Vox
no more beats beating
no more beats beating in my head
at five in the morning
and Vox
can remedy
can suffer
can make just one more excuse
for causing damage
causing damage

shrink
and wonder
about that one time in your life
when you could have been the man of your dreams
and let him
embrace you with his
white
hot
ego
not like this tale you weave will bring me wonder
or wool to my skin
and a meal for my chamber maid
to just let this terror in my life
hold and wonder why you blink when you say you feel just what i feel
if i let you bring me into this deeper than i stand
at the other side of the mountain
barely helps me with my Vox
with my fox
materializing
but one day you will just sweat and wallow
and shiver in your sleep
it is just me
haunting you completely through
but what a lonely view
from the other side of the mountain

i guess we can only blame ourselves
for letting it get like this
just Vox
no more beats beating
no more beats beating in my head
at five in the morning
and Vox
can remedy
can suffer
can make just one more excuse
for causing damage
causing damage

Updated Tracklisting

Updated the tracklisting with the track lengths. Apparently the artwork for this album is going to be highly dependent on various forms of art...lots of animation and creative stuff going on. Seems like very exciting season in the world of Tori Amos. Expect even more details from the Tori camp within the next two weeks.

P.S. I can understand people's doubts about this information (according to my comments) but like I said, I am not in a position to reveal my sources for obvious reasons. Once the press release becomes available, all will be revealed. In the meantime, I'll keep posting exclusive information as it becomes available.

Tori Amos - Abnormally Attracted to Sin (Spoilers!)

The album is totally different from anything else that she has ever done. Tori has gone electro. Lots of drumlines and weird sounds and synths. One song is totally disco ("DeleteDeleteDelete"), which is the song that my friend provided additional programming on. This is, to put it simply, an "electro-pop record, very fresh and very modern but focusing on deeply emotional songwriting and intricate synthesizer melodies." Anyway, my friend was at Martian Studios when this was getting mastered over the past few days and got to listen to a spin of the record in complete form. He said that he was really surprised by it and mentioned that the production values are incredible. The album is done but the artwork and the visualettes are still in the final stages. UPDATE: He texted me a brief description of each song based on his initial listen.

01. Infringement
"80's style pop, really groovy and chic with a really loud synthesizer...heavy beats on the chorus and a really catchy bridge."

02. Air Raids
"synthpop...the melody of the synthesizer is really gorgeous and the chorus has lots of layered vocals...it sounds really airy..."

03. Losing the Girl
"piano pop...the melody is happy and the chorus sounds upbeat but the lyrics are sad."

04. We Grew Up Together
"disco ballad! favorite song so far! sounds like something from 'confessions on a dancefloor!' love the chorus!"

05. How to Destroy Matter
"pure electronica. great track, the bassline on the chorus is extremely loud and i can totally imagine blasting this one in the car...really good lyrics."

06. Vox
"industrial...like a birth child of zero point and datura..."

07. Nanotechs and Biology
"techno! lots of bleeps and sounds and a really fast beat! awesome lyrics!"

08. Deciphering the Formula
"indie pop...has a dreamy kind of feel to it...kind of like something asobi seksu would record."

09. Artificial Blue
"electro-pop...really melodious and the synths are awesome...very pretty, but not a ballad. hard to describe."

10. The Suburban Chronicles
"70's style pop...like something that nancy sinatra would do...different and cool!"

11. Luna Base
"synthrock...really into this one, it sounds like the killers or innerpartysystem..."

12. Taking Pictures of Monsters
"indie rock...the guitars are really melodious and the piano sounds complex...probably the most mellow track so far."

13. Eidolon
"whoa! new fave! this is total dance pop with lots of synths and a really, really, really good beat! it sounds like a lady gaga song! crazy! could this be the first single?"

14. Only Yesterday
"60's style pop...sounds hauntingly similar to the mamas and the papas...love the lyrics...really pretty..."

15. What Jacob Said
"electro rock. sounds like hotel on steroids. the bridge is really long and really trippy and cool."

16. DeleteDeleteDelete
"disco! the track i worked on...yeah, it sounds like blondie meets css meets scissor sisters...really great and unlike anything tori has done!"

17. Long Division
"piano rock ballad...really long and the lyrics are cool...her vocals are really soaring on the chorus...the drums sound especially nice and there is a cool ambient vibe to this track. a nice end to the album."
